About the DMC Team

Dallas Mercer Consulting (DMC) is a disability and safety management company, specializing in workplace injury, non-occupational leave management, occupational health & safety consulting and training, as well as industrial hygiene services.

DMC was founded in 2002, when founder Dallas Mercer recognized that most employers needed help to manage claim duration and escalating costs. Initially, services were limited to Disability Management, but were soon expanded to include Occupational Health and Safety services – a critical component of the Disability Management side of business – as well as Industrial Hygiene services.

Over 17 years later, we service more than 550 clients across Canada, all who are facing similar challenges. No matter the size of the company – from small, privately owned companies to large Crown Corporations – we have demonstrated a consistent ability to improve client outcomes through the provision of disability and safety services.
Due to this expansion across the country, our relevant experience in Occupational Health and Safety spans many jurisdictions, and includes a broad spectrum of safety and disability consulting services. Our personnel are carefully chosen to ensure they possess not only the required skill set, but also that they understand our philosophy and are able to adapt to each client’s needs.

Our
Approach

At the start, we identify one consultant to be your main point of contact. Designating a single contact enables this person to become an intricate part of your internal team, gaining a familiarity and intimate knowledge of your organization that will enable them to assist you in the most effective manner possible.

Although you will have a primary contact, there will also be a team of experts with varying skill sets and experience working for your company. Utilizing a broad range of team members provides you with a variety of insights into challenging/complex problems in order to identify solutions. Our professionals are also encouraged to transfer knowledge and best practices between clients making for a unique team that is difficult to replicate in house.

Not only do you have access to our years of experience and expertise when working with us, there are many other benefits:

  • Our team is flexible with scheduling, and available for long or short-term projects, on an as need basis, or on contract.
  • Outsourcing Disability Management, Occupational Health & Safety, or Industrial Hygiene is highly cost-effective, and allows your employees to focus on your core business.
  • Being an outside party enables us to provide an objective viewpoint that ensures the job gets done effectively.
  • Although you only interact with one individual, you gain the experience and knowledge of the entire staff at DMC.

Disability Management Team

With decades of experience across multiple industries nationwide, our Disability Managers work diligently to provide early and safe return to work strategies for employees.

We know the complex process inside out, and we work on behalf of employers to reduce the time and cost associated with managing workers’ compensation and sick leave claims. As our industry changes, we will continue to adapt and expand our services as necessary in order to eliminate workplace injuries and illnesses, provide guidance to ensure you meet your legislative obligations, and to remain leaders in our respective field.

The DMC Difference:

  • We don’t just monitor claims; we manage them to help minimize lost time and improve productivity.
  • We never medically treat the employee. We work with an external team of professionals to avoid any conflict of interest that may arise from representing both the employee and the employer. This helps us remain focused solely on our client’s needs.
  • We assign a dedicated Disability Manager to each of our clients, providing one point of contact to streamline communications.
