What time are the courses scheduled and what is the duration of each course?

One day or multi-day programs run from 8:30am - 4:30pm with a 1 hour lunch break. 1/2-Day programs can consist of a morning or afternoon session, running from 8:30am - 12:30pm or 1:00pm – 5:00pm respectively. See individual course descriptions for duration of the each program.

Where does the training take place?

Locations vary depending on the course. Please refer to course schedule.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

DMC supplies all required equipment for the practical portion of the training. We require participants to bring their own safety boots, hard hat and safety glasses.

What are the payment options?

DMC accepts credit card payments by Visa and Mastercard only. For clients who have been pre-approved, a PO number will be accepted and an invoice will be issued.

Does my certificate expire?

Course certificate expiration dates vary depending on the legislation or CSA Standard being followed. Below is a listing of expiry dates for all DMC courses offerings:

  • Aerial Work Platform: 3 years
  • Asbestos Abatement Techniques: 3 years
  • Forklift Operator Safety: 3 years
  • Asbestos Awareness: 3 years
  • OH&S Committee: No expiry. It is recommended that OH&S Committee training be completed every three (3) years for due diligence purposes or after an individual begins employment with a new company.
  • Power Line Hazards: 3 years
  • Traffic Control: 3 years
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (Ground): 3 years
  • Trenching Safety: 3 years
  • WHMIS: No expiry. It is recommended that WHMIS training be completed each year for due diligence purposes or after an individual begins employment with a new company or if their current employer begins to use new products which require an MSDS.
  • 2-Day Confined Space Entry: 3 years
  • 2-Day Fall Protection: 3 years
Will I receive a certificate after I complete the course?

WorkplaceNL issues certificates for OH&S Committee training directly to the attendee after receiving proof of attendance from DMC. All other certificates are issued by DMC to the company/individual following completion of the course.

Can DMC conduct training on employers' worksites?

Yes, DMC will deliver training on client sites and will work with clients to ensure adequate facilities are provided for the theory and practical portions of the training.

Is lunch provided?

Lunch is not provided, however DMC will provide coffee/tea and refreshments for mid-morning and mid-afternoon nutritional breaks. Lunch time will be approximately 12:00 – 1:00.

Is a medical required prior to training?

No. DMC does not require a medical to be completed for any of our safety training programs. However, we do require that participants declare their physical ability to complete the practical exercises by signing a waiver/declaration form.

Are there a minimum number of participants required to deliver a course?

The minimum number of participants required varies for each course. Please contact our office for more details. DMC reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule a training course due to low registrations.

If I have to cancel or re-schedule, will there be a charge?

DMC requires 2 days notice for cancellation of training/seminar; otherwise, you will be invoiced for the number of seats reserved. Cancellations must be received in writing and can be faxed to the attention of Gaby Victoria at (709) 364-3910.
